Top 3 Ways to Use Edge Factor for Online Learning

Start by browsing the Edge Factor e-learning library and get ready to go on a career journey! All of the content in your Edge Factor experience follows these 4 phases: Inspiration, Exploration, Preparation, and Connection. Whether you are teaching kids in elementary, middle  or high schools we have video and lesson plans ready for you to view with your students or to assign for your students to watch individually.

Here are some ways that you can use Edge Factor to meaningfully engage students at home. As you build plans for delivering remote learning, here are 3 ways you can use Edge Factor:

  1. Equip students to explore careers

Share Career Profile videos with your students today! This series, with about 400 episodes, helps students see what a “day in the life” looks like in careers across every industry. Ask students to choose the top 5 Careers that interest them the most, and explain why. If you are teaching grade 6-8 students, check out the Skilled Responders, Explorers, and Navigators career exploration series.

       2. Take students on a virtual field trip

Go behind closed doors to experience walk-and-talk tours of companies across every industry. These virtual field trips provide an authentic look at diverse work environments, careers, tools and equipment, soft skills, and more. We have 190+ Virtual Workplace Experiences that show students what it’s like to work in real-world companies. Share these videos and download the lesson plans to host an online group discussion/ activity.

  1. Share Soft Skills videos

Depending on the grades you teach, head to our Browse page to check out our popular Soft Skills videos and activities! We have the Potholes, Ethics, Employability, Financial Literacy, and Soft Skills on the Job series. Help students prepare for future success by embracing transferable skills.

You can choose to login to your own membership and share your screen to play a video, and/or students can all login individually, using Google or D2L | Brightspace (to find out how your school is set up, contact support@edgefactor.com).
