From the first industrial boom in Canada, Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) has been advocating for and representing leading manufacturers to help their business grow. CME’s success comes from integrating the association with industry, being run by manufacturers for manufacturers. CME member companies get things made and get things done. These companies are made up of people who are enjoying their work, feeding their families, and building the world around us. Partnering with Edge Factor will ensure CME member companies have a lot to offer job-seekers, as well as students who are looking ahead post- high school wondering, “What do I want to do with my life?”
Edge Factor’s platform is an important resource for educators and students in school boards across Canada. This strategic partnership will equip CME member companies with tools to promote apprenticeship programs and career opportunities to students in K-12 and Postsecondary classrooms, and parents and job-seekers.
Edge Factor uses the power of cinematic storytelling to take students and job-seekers on a journey from "I have no idea what I want to do with my life" to discovering industries, careers, CTE and postsecondary programs, Soft Skills, STEAM and local opportunities. We have criss-crossed North America to produce thousands of videos and interactive activities that highlight every industry and deliver these tools through our platform. The people behind each company featured in Edge Factor videos have stories and career opportunities worth sharing. Stories of real life people making a difference in their communities, who are building ecosystems and paving the way for the next generation of innovators, manufacturers and entrepreneurs.
Innovation is the cornerstone of success
Both CME and Edge Factor believe that building the workforce pipeline, especially in manufacturing and skilled trades is critical to the future of our economy. Associations will need to be innovative and place great value on the investment in technology as the key to creating competitiveness and prosperity.
CME’s mission to help companies thrive includes:
Innovation: providing programs and services created specifically to address the labor shortage and improving productivity
Connection: providing opportunities for business owners to network, work together, learn from each other and grow together
Representation: CME is committed to being a strong voice for industry whether on behalf of specific companies or the entire sector.
Together, CME and Edge Factor understand the tremendous need to empower companies with tangible tools to build their workforce pipeline.
