From the beach towns of Washington State to the highest point of Mount Rainier, Washington is committed to building their workforce pipeline. Organizations like the Construction Center of Excellence and AGC Education Foundation are working alongside Edge Factor, to inspire students and job seekers to explore the local training and career opportunities available across the great state of Washington.
Edge Factor uses the power of cinematic storytelling to take students and job-seekers on a journey from "I have no idea what I want to do with my life!" all the way to, “I have browsed the opportunities, made informed decisions, and launched a local training and career pathway.” We have criss-crossed North America to produce thousands of videos and interactive activities that highlight every industry and we deliver these multimedia tools through the Edge Factor platform.
Partnering with industry and educational leaders including Renton Technical College, Edge Factor has filmed and published career exploration media featuring Washington based companies. Together with our partners, we are proud to share free access to this media (and much more!) on an all-new landing page called, Washington has the Edge! This is a family-friendly space, where students, parents, and job-seekers become inspired to launch their own training and career pathways. It features real life stories of people pushing back the edge of what’s possible and using their minds, hands, and technology to build the future and impact lives. With inspirational films, Career Profile videos, Virtual Workplace Experiences, and more, this landing page highlights careers, tools and equipment, soft skills, and STEAM topics that come alive in Washington companies. To make connections and foster relationships between local schools, families, and companies, this page also includes Profiles with information and links to Washington organizations and opportunities.
Washington’s Construction Center of Excellence mission is to “serve as the statewide liaisons to business, industry, labor, and the state’s educational systems for the purpose of creating a highly skilled and readily available workforce critical to the success of the industries driving the state’s economy and supporting Washington families.”
“Edge Factor is a phenomenal resource to connect educators, students, job seekers and local companies together in one cohesive platform. All the content, curriculum and media is produced with passion to inspire individuals to consider career pathways that are meaningful and sustainable. We are proud to partner with such a high quality company that benefits our workforce systems statewide." - Kristi Grassman, Director, Construction Center of Excellence
AGC Education Foundation serves Washington’s construction industry through education, outreach, scholarships, and grant programs. They share Edge Factor’s commitment to lifelong learning, and developing programs for every stage of the career journey. Construction professionals, educators, and students participate in AGC Education Foundation’s diverse programs.
“The benefit of working with an organization like Edge Factor is they are able to present career information in a very dynamic and engaging way that really piques student interest. The tools and resources their programs provide to schools, especially rural districts, who may not have access to a wide variety of guest speakers and job site visits is outstanding.”
- Sarah Patterson, Workforce Development Director at AGC Education Foundation.
“The Center of Excellence for Construction, AGC Education Foundation, and Edge Factor are passionate about helping to inspire and prepare the future workforce,” said Larissa Hofman, Vice President of Edge Factor. “Our partnership success is measured by real students and job-seekers' eyes being opened to industries, careers, and opportunities, right in Washington. We are proud to stand beside one another and promote the incredible training and career pathways Washington state has to offer!”
