Five Reasons to Host Manufacturing Day Events

Why host a Manufacturing Day event

Manufacturing Day is an annual, national movement for manufacturers, educators, and community leaders to host events that raise awareness of careers and advanced technology in the world of manufacturing. This year Manufacturing Day falls on Friday, October 6th but events can be hosted throughout the month of October.

The goal of Manufacturing Day is simple: to inspire and build the workforce pipeline.  Since 2015, Edge Factor has empowered 5700+ Rock MFG Day events with turnkey tools and high-impact resources to engage live and virtual audiences. This year is no different! The team at Edge Factor has launched the 2023 Rock MFG Day Toolkit as part of October's Free Programming to equip educators, business, and workforce leaders with a collection of inspirational films, virtual workplace experiences, career and industry profiles, STEAM, and soft skills on the job.

Until October 31. 2023, you will be able to host a live or virtual event and use these tools to highlight advanced manufacturing careers and inspire students from K - 12 and job-seekers to discover how manufacturing impacts our world and experience what it takes to launch a rewarding career as they earn and learn their way to achieving the Rock MFG Day badge on the Edge Factor platform.

The Event Host Kit and Promotional Tools provide you with a step-by-step guide on how to host an engaging event and pre-written social media posts and graphics you can use to promote your event.

There are three kits, with age-appropriate content and gamified experiences for each grade cluster. The resources within each kit include cinematic stories and films, that help students explore career pathways, experience virtual workplaces, and prepare for their future careers with videos on soft skills and of course, STEAM. It’s plug-and-play - which means you can use parts or all of the toolkit in one day or celebrate Manufacturing throughout the month of October!

Top 5 Reasons You Should Host an Event

2022

Over the last 5 years, Edge Factor has partnered with nearly 5700 organizations all across North America, to host MFG DAY events that inspire students, reach parents, and impact communities. From our experience in partnering on so many types of MFG DAY events, here are the top 5 reasons for hosting events:

1) Inspire students to pursue careers in manufacturing

2) Reach parents at home and change antiquated perceptions of the industry

3) Recruit new students to enroll in your manufacturing or skilled trades programs

4) Build relationships with local businesses by asking them to participate and share info on what they do over a video conferencing call

5) Raise awareness of your school, programs, and extracurricular programs (i.e. Skills USA or Canada teams)

We understand that hosting an event is not easy! Planning and promoting your upcoming event, hosting a high-impact stage or Keynote presentation, taking students on a tour, and trying to plan the logistics... It can become a bit overwhelming, especially for manufacturers who are not typically involved with event planning. That’s why we’ve created the FREE Rock MFG DAY Toolkit, and included everything you need to plan, promote, host, and follow up on your virtual or live MFG DAY event.

What are you waiting for? Access the Free Programming today!

The Rock MFG Day Toolkit is available for FREE until October 31, 2023. However, every month we'll launch new Free Programming for you to watch and share!
