Edge Factor features career and training opportunities for students and job-seekers in California

Known as the Golden State, California maintains one of the largest workforces in the US with approximately 14 million employees. California’s industrial success is linked to the presence of several technology-intensive manufacturing industries and the booming film industry. The fastest-growing industries in the state are healthcare, construction, technology, hospitality, and agriculture. Edge Factor has created a new landing page to inspire students in California to explore careers and training opportunities in their community.

For over a decade now Edge Factor has been working with communities across North America to inspire the next workforce. We work closely with educators, community and business leaders to connect students, parents, and job seekers with companies, schools, careers and training programs available  in their community.

How do we inspire students and reach parents? At Edge Factor, we believe it all begins with a good story! We travel the globe to film real people working in diverse industry sectors to create high-impact career exploration media.  Our e-learning resources provide educators and students with the tools they need to dig deeper and make meaningful connections.

Partnering with industry and educational leaders Edge Factor has filmed and published career exploration media featuring real life stories of people pushing back the edge of what’s possible and using their minds, hands, and technology to build the future and impact lives. We are proud to share free access to this media (and much more!) on an all-new landing page called, California has the Edge!

This is a family-friendly space, where students, parents, and job-seekers become inspired to launch their own training and career pathways. With inspirational films, Career Profile videos, Virtual Workplace Experiences, and more, this landing page highlights careers, tools and equipment, soft skills, and STEAM topics that come alive on the job. Brought to you in part by the California Department of Education’s Arts, Media, and Entertainment team, this landing page is available to everyone across the Golden State completely for free!
