The WEP Factor Competition + Awards are coming to a city near you! 

 

This winter, we’re shining a light on passion and commitment to excellence in the skilled trades. The WEP Factor Competition Awards feature four categories that recognize individuals and companies who have demonstrated commitment to workforce development and enthusiasm to building a future of excellence related to apprenticeships and the skilled trades in their community. Prizes for each individual winner are valued over $200, including a $150 Amazon gift card and awesome Edge Factor merch! 

 

Whether you’re a student, job-seeker, apprentice, educator, mentor, employer, or a community member in Brantford, Bruce-Grey, Hamilton or Sudbury, you can participate in the WEP Factor Awards.

The Reach for Excellence Award

Reach for Excellence - Edge Factor Award

 

This award goes to one individual per community who demonstrates interest in a future of excellence in the skilled trades through WEP. To be entered to win, individuals need to create a free account or login, then earn their WEP Community Badge by exploring local companies, apprenticeship and skilled trades careers, and completing the WEP activity! 


Eligibility: All apprentices, students and/or job seekers who successfully earned their Community Badge.

 

The Spirit of WEP Award

Nominated by a mentor or community member, the Spirit of WEP will be awarded to one individual per community who has demonstrated an active commitment to pursuing excellence in the skilled trades. Nominate someone you know beginning February 11, 2023.


Eligibility: All apprentices, students and/or job seekers who have been nominated by a mentor, supervisor, teacher,  journeyman or community member.

The Leadership Excellence Award

Nominated by a student or mentee, this will be awarded to one individual per community who has demonstrated a fierce commitment to mentoring and training future apprentices and skilled trades professionals. Nominate someone you know beginning February 11, 2023.


Eligibility: All mentors, teachers, supervisors, community leaders, journeymen, and/or guidance counselors who are nominated by a mentee, student, apprentice or employee.

 

The WEP Trailblazer Award

WEP Trailblazer - Edge Factor Award

 

This award celebrates a company that demonstrates commitment to enhancing apprenticeship pathways in their community, and future-proofing their workforce through participation in WEP. To qualify to win, log in and add Profiles on your Company and/or Apprenticeship Programs to highlight your opportunities. 


Eligibility: All companies in Brantford, Bruce-Grey, Hamilton and Sudbury who have actively engaged with WEP.
